Trip to Utah !!!

I remember as a college student in the 1970's how we would get to Salt Lake really early on Conference weekend just to be able to get into the Tabernacle. We would line up all around the building and wait all day in line just to get into the afternoon session. After being newly refurbished it only seats 4,000. Amazing that is used to seem so big!

Wow! The temple is so beautiful!

This little old lady was a special guest of the Choir for Music and the Spoken Word. She just celebrated her 95th birthday (she's from Florida...and not a member) so her local newspaper did an article on her. She was asked many questions and one of them was "What is your one dream in life?" She answered that her fondest wish was to see and hear the Mormon Tabernacle choir in person. Another woman reading the paper saw what this lady's request was (I suspect she was a member) so she called her up and said she wanted to take her to Utah and let her see the choir....and there they were. They wheeled her up on stage to be presented to the Choir when it was over and then the choir sang their closing song "God be with you til we meet again" right to her. She heartily sang along and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. What a wonderful thing...the kindness of a stranger. It was a glorious day and we feel so blessed to be a part of the most wonderful organization on the earth...the Savior's Church.
